A new winter treat: Hokkaido's "new winter vegetables." In Hokkaido, we are working to increase production and demand for "new winter vegetables," such as "curly spinach" grown without heating in the winter, "flush-mounted asparagus" grown and shipped during the off-season when shipments from other prefectures are scarce, and "snow-under-the-snow cabbage," which is stored under the snow for a certain period before being shipped.
