The Sapporo-based theatre company "Tsuruhmaki Gakudan" (Representative: Tsuruhmaki Keita, scriptwriter and director; winner of the Grand Prize in the 2014 Young Directors Competition sponsored by the Japan Directors Association), will be presenting Shakespeare's earliest tragedy, "Titus Andronicus," as a presentation of the results of their "Acting Course," which has been running continuously since 2013.
The cast consists of 18 students from the acting course, ranging from junior high school students to working adults, with a wide range of ages, occupations, and acting experience. The acting course has been active while placing importance on the significance of incorporating expressive activities into everyday life.
What did the students who have been attending rehearsals since April 2024 find in this horrific story? The results of their work over the past year will be unveiled on stage.
