Cherry blossom viewing in Matsumae Town, southern Hokkaido, one of Japan's leading cherry blossom viewing spots. There are about 10,000 cherry trees of 250 different species, and you can enjoy early, mid-season, and late-blooming cherry blossoms for a month. During the cherry blossom viewing period, there will be cherry blossom illuminations, food stalls selling gourmet food and shooting galleries, as well as a variety of stage events such as local performing arts, performance shows, and live music.

■ Sakura Stamp Rally
During the Sakura Festival, the annually popular Sakura Stamp Rally will be held. Participants who complete the rally will receive a "Sakura Calendar" that starts in May.

■ Cherry Blossom Illumination
The cherry blossoms will be lit up again this year. Enjoy the beauty of the cherry blossoms, which is different from daytime, using LED lights designed specifically for cherry blossoms.
・Illumination time: from sunset to around 9:00 p.m.
■ Cherry Blossom Viewing Shop
In the square behind Matsumae Shrine, there will be food stalls selling oden, yakitori, grilled seafood, and shooting games.
・Opening period: April 19th (Sat) to May 6th (Tue) 9:00-21:00
*Some stores may close early due to sold out items.
■Sister City Product Fair
On April 19th (Sat) and 20th (Sun), special products from Matsumae Town's sister cities, "Date City, Fukushima Prefecture" and "Matsumae Town, Ehime Prefecture" will be on sale.
