*Culture Night (July 25th) is from 9:30am to 9pm. August 22nd, 29th, and September 5th (all Fridays) are from 9:30am to 7:30pm.
*Last admission is 30 minutes before each closing time.

Shokoku-ji Temple was founded in the 14th century by Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, the third Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, and is the head temple of the Rinzai sect of Buddhism, which also includes Kinkaku-ji (Rokuon-ji) and Ginkaku-ji (Jishoji). The exhibition will feature around 70 items from the temple, including national treasures and important cultural properties, such as Chinese tea utensils, Buddhist paintings, and Edo paintings by Ito Jakuchu, Maruyama Okyo, and Nagasawa Rosetsu.
