The "Machiakari Illumination" event, held annually in front of Asahikawa Station, will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025. Starting this winter, the beloved "Asahikawa Machiakari Illumination" will be renamed and reborn as an event that can be enjoyed by more people. This year, under the new concept of "Asahikawa's Pride and Future Captivated by Light," the event will vividly illuminate the snow-covered, bitterly cold center of Asahikawa.

We hope that the unforgettable "winter memories" and "spiritual comfort" of visitors will overlap and be passed down through warm relationships across generations as a winter memory of Asahikawa. In order to cherish the "way of light" that is rooted in Asahikawa's rich nature, history, and culture, each light is overlaid with a story and a landscape, allowing visitors to quietly enjoy the space and feel its charm.
