This play of the children of the snow country, evolved into a winter new sport in the great land of the north. Every year in February, 150 elite teams who won through the nationwide preliminaries, gather at the birthplace of "Sport Yukigassen", the land, at the foot of Shōwa Shinzan in Sōbetsu Town, where volcanic smoke trails like the breath of the great land, and unfold passionate battles.
