A "bird's-eye view" is a drawing that depicts vast landscapes from a bird-like perspective. Hatsusaburo Yoshida (1884-1955) is known for drawing bird's-eye views of various places across Japan. In this exhibition, the "Hokkaido Bird's-Eye View," which marks its 90th anniversary since completion, and the ten-piece landscape painting set "Ten Views of Hokkaido" will be unveiled all at once! We will also focus on bird's-eye views and landscape paintings published in tourist brochures and postcards from various parts of Hokkaido, tracing the former appearance of Hokkaido.
