Kawayu Visitor Center Nature Interaction Event ~Lecture "The Life History of the Ooubayuri"~
Date and Time
2026/6/20
13:30-15:30 (Scheduled)
The Ooubayuri is known as a "monocarpic perennial plant" that takes over 10 years to grow from a seed and ends its life after flowering once. However, it actually uses two reproductive methods: propagating by seed and creating clones of itself via rhizomes. In this lecture, we will delve into its unique life history and talk about its unknown survival strategies.
