KITAKINEMA presents Vol.5 -A Silent Film Screening with Narration by a Katsudo Shashin Benshi- "Metropolis"

A once-a-year treat, the 5th screening by Kitakinema, a group for enjoying silent films in Hokkaido.
We invite Katsudo Shashin Benshi Ichiro Kataoka to screen the monumental classic sci-fi film "Metropolis," set in the year 2026, accompanied by his narration (film explanation).

【Performer】Ichiro Kataoka (Katsudo Shashin Benshi) - Born in Tokyo. He has performed overseas in as many as 24 countries. In "Katsuben!" by Masayuki Suo, he served as a historical consultant and benshi instructor, and has appeared in many other films and dramas as a benshi. He is also a film historian and has authored "Katsudo Shashin Benshi" (Kyowakoku).

Synopsis - In the futuristic city of Metropolis, where machine civilization has reached its peak, days of love, hate, and decadence swirl day and night. While the upper class of the surface world indulges in luxury, the people of the underground world are forced to work without sleep, and the conflict between the classes only deepens. What will the android, developed by a genius inventor at this very moment, bring to the new world....?
