Overview

The 'Susukino Ice World,' where about 60 ice sculptures line the sea of neon lights on Ekimae-dori, the main street of Susukino, began in 1981 as a sponsored event of the 'Sapporo Snow Festival,' which has now become an international-scale event. The ice sculptures that emerge in the sea of neon lights are fantastically and mysteriously beautiful. In 1983, it was also designated as an official venue for the Snow Festival, and the ice sculptures have become more fascinating with each passing year.
