The Sapporo Marathon, one of the largest citizens' marathon events in northern Japan with over 14,000 participants annually, will be held with Makomanai Sekisui Heim Stadium as the main venue. In addition to the half marathon and 10km races on a course certified by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations, there are also 5km, 3km, 2km, and 1km events. There are also fun pairs for running with children of elementary school age or younger, and a wheelchair course, so anyone can participate in their own style, including first-time participants, people in wheelchairs, and those with disabilities. A wide range of runners, from adults to toddlers and wheelchair participants, will run through Sapporo in the autumn, responding to the cheers of the crowd.
