Overview

Three days of bustle as large crowds of people flock to the town. The Yoimiya-sai (eve festival) is held from Friday evening, and on Saturday morning, the mikoshi (portable shrine) procession departs from the shrine. The grand mikoshi parade marches through the town of Kushiro, reaching Kita-Odori. The shrine grounds are lined with food stalls, and there is a full schedule of events. The atmosphere is filled with joy with things like a children's fair and live stage performances.
