Overview

The perennially popular 'Bunraku' is coming to Kyobun again this year!

[Matinee] features 'Sesshu Gappo ga Tsuji,' which depicts the love and tragedy of a mother who protects her stepchild while bearing the stigma of a wicked woman, and 'Gojo Bashi,' which portrays the fateful encounter and battle of the familiar Yoshitsune and Benkei.
[Evening Show] will present the masterpiece 'Katsuragawa Renri no Shigarami,' a story centered on the forbidden love of Ohan and Choemon, intertwined with the devotion of his wife Okinu and the schemes of villains in a succession dispute, ultimately leading to a tragic love suicide.

Please enjoy the splendid world of this traditional Japanese performing art, which is also registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
