Web & Graphic Designer / Photographer / Wine Bar Management
Born in Sapporo and raised in Chiba. After graduating from art college with a degree in design, worked in advertising, custom motorcycle production, and web production before going freelance in 2004. I had always had a vague idea in the back of my mind that I wanted to live somewhere in the countryside... Hokkaido, which both of us love, and especially Tokachi and Obihiro, seemed like a good place to do so. After several years of thinking and gradually making moves, in the spring of 2017, they met Tetsuya Kashiwao, founder of Hotel Nupuka in Obihiro, and in December of that year, they started a 4-month mid-winter immigration experience in Tokachi by themselves. During this time, he experienced an overwhelming number of “encounters” and fun for the first time in his life, and decided to move to Tokachi. After three and a half years of monthly “visits from Obihiro for one week to Tokyo for three weeks,” he and his wife moved to Obihiro in the summer of 2021. While continuing to work on the web projects he had been doing in Tokyo, he has also been sending out information on SNS as a daily snapshot photographer, and has also been working as a location coordinator for movies and TV dramas, taking advantage of his community and local knowledge of Tokachi that he has accumulated over the past few years. In December 2022, he opened a wine bar “pontdoux” in Obihiro with his wife, who has a wealth of experience in food and beverage, with the aim of creating a “loose social gathering place” for local and non-regional people, and he produces the entire restaurant, designs, does DIY work, and disseminates information, He is also in charge of the counter during business hours as a “watchman”. http://pontdoux.com/ https://www.facebook.com/pontdoux
