Osappe Falls
Unknown and famous waterfall deep in the forest
There are several rivers that flow into Lake Kussharo, and the Osappe River is the largest of them all. It is not well known that there is a famous waterfall upstream of the Osappe River.
The road to the falls is a forest road along the river. Driving the car, keeping the Osappe River to the left, takes you deep into the forest. It takes about 20 minutes by car to reach the end of the road, and after that, you will continue on foot to the headwaters of the river. The road is almost non-existent. After about an hour's walk, crossing bamboo thickets, a path of wildflowers, and a stream, two beautiful waterfalls will appear at the same time.
