Overview

The view of the lake spreading out before your eyes is the best location. It has been selected as one of the "100 Best Scenic Spots in Hokkaido," and is especially breathtaking at sunset.
The southeastern part of Lake Abashiri is designated as a national natural monument, "Lake Memanbetsu Wetland Plant Community," and from late April to autumn, dozens of species of plants including skunk cabbages bloom.
