Overview

Abashiri City is using the slopes of Tentozan Lake View Ski Resort to develop a flower garden as a tourist spot and a place of relaxation for citizens. As part of an initiative to promote tourism in collaboration with citizens, every year citizens become foster parents of the flower garden (adopt-a-flower program), and in fiscal year 2024 they planted salvia and managed the garden by weeding and other means. The garden has produced magnificent flowers and has been featured nationwide on television and in newspapers, and is included as a course on travel tours, making it a popular tourist spot for local residents and tourists from all over the country.
