Northern Country Museum
The Hokkoku Museum, as for, on the south side of Nayoro Park, surrounded by a primeval forest of Mizunara oaks that have watched over Nayoro's nature and people's lives in the midst of many winds and snows, and on top of a hill from which Nayoro's townscape can be overlooked, was constructed. That place is also the former site of the Nayoro Main Line where the SL snowplow train "Kimaroki," which, together with many predecessors, carried the history of the pioneering of Northern Hokkaido, and protected the winter railway, was active.
