SPOT
Cape Kamui / Kamui Rock
Overview
It is about 770m from the 'Women Prohibited' gate to the tip of Cape Kamui, which juts out dynamically into the open sea.
Following the 'Charenka's Path' promenade, which offers magnificent views of the Sea of Japan on both sides, you can see a 300-degree rounded horizon in about 20 minutes. The Ezo-kanzo (day lilies) are also spectacular here in early summer.
There is a gate at the entrance to Cape Kamui, and the opening and closing times vary depending on the season. It takes about 40 minutes for a round trip to the end of the promenade at Cape Kamui, so please be mindful of the closing time. If you are short on time, please enjoy the view from the 'Women Prohibited' gate. The opening and closing times of the 'Women Prohibited' gate and the entrance gate may change depending on weather conditions (rain, wind).
