In commemoration of the town's establishment in 1962, approximately 400 cherry trees and azalea trees were planted, and the Murakamiyama Park Development Association took the lead in creating the park, which opened in May 1963. In 2002, the park was reopened with a new arbor, restrooms, and parking lot. From the top, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the central area of the town and the magnificent Daisetsuzan mountain range in front of them.
