Lake Katsurazawa
Lake Katsurazawa is a large man-made lake created by the completion of Katsurazawa Dam. The lake has a circumference of 62 km and is surrounded by forests with beautiful natural scenery, and is designated as a provincial natural park. The area around Lake Katsurazawa is world-famous as a treasure trove of fossils that hold the romance of prehistoric times, and many fossils of ammonites and other creatures from that period have been discovered here, some of which are on display at the Mikasa City Museum.
There is a park by the lake, where visitors can enjoy the lake's four seasons.
