Katsurazawa Lake is, by the completion of Katsurazawa Dam, a large artificial lake that was formed.
The lake's circumference is 62km, and it is a place of beautiful natural scenery surrounded by forests, and it is designated as a Prefectural Natural Park.
Also, Katsurazawa Lake's surroundings are also worldwide famous as a treasure trove of fossils that hid ancient romance, and ammonites and that time's creatures' fossils have been numerous discovered in this land, and Mikasa City Museum also is displaying a part of them.
At the lakeside, there is a park, and it is possible to enjoy the lake's four seasons.
