Iwamizawa Park Rose Garden
This rose garden boasts the largest number of varieties in Hokkaido. The 40,000 m2 site is filled with 8,800 roses and hamanas of approximately 630 varieties grown without pesticides, and can be enjoyed from late June to mid-October. The spiral shaped shaped rose garden, the center of the garden, is planted with gorgeous repeat blooming large-flowered varieties, mainly Hybrid Tea Roses and Grandiflora Roses, and the arches and stands are crawling with budding roses.
The slope on the mountain side is "Hamanasu no Oka" (Hill of Hamanasu), where Hamanasu, which grow wild in various parts of Hokkaido, are planted.
In the indoor park "Colors Pavilion," visitors can enjoy temperate evergreen trees and other plants that are unfamiliar to Hokkaido in any season.
