SPOT
Cape Azeti
The eastern end of the Kiritappu Peninsula is "Cape Kiritappu". At the western end of the peninsula is "Cape Azeti".
Cape Azeti juts out into Biwase Bay, where you can see Kojima, Gomejima, and Inukurijima, and the coastline of Biwase Bay and Hamanaka Bay can be seen in the distance.
Hamanaka's bird, the etopilica, nests on the small island seen from the tip of Azeti's cape. Many etopilicas used to nest on Gome Island, which can be seen from Cape Kiritappu. Hamanaka Town has many small islands and rocks that are sacred places for seabirds.
The sight of the fishermen at Cape Azeti going fishing on a sunny day during the kelp season is spectacular, and the roar of their boats as they compete with each other is a reminder of the dynamic spirit of the men of the sea.
