SPOT
Inekureguri Island
is an uninhabited island located near Biwase Bay in the Pacific Ocean.
It has a circumference of about 4.5 km and can be viewed from Azeti cape and along the coast.
The island is home to flowers such as Ezo kanzo and Japanese iris, as well as Kiritappu Marsh, which bloom in the summer.
The island is also a treasure trove of precious flora and fauna, and is a habitat for the towhee shrew, said to be the world's smallest animal, and the Koshijiro's petrel.
The island has been preserved in its natural state, and Hamanaka Town has established conditions for entry to the island from the standpoints of nature conservation and utilization.
