Mt. Nanatsu Scenic Forest
Overview
The Mt. Nanatsu Scenic Forest is located at an elevation of 500 m or higher, including Mt. Nanatsu (957 m). The majority of the forest is a natural forest consisting mainly of beech, and the ground is covered with Chishimazasa and other trees.
The forest is also home to a large swamp within the scenic forest, and the area is blessed with seasonal scenery and is used by many people from spring through fall for nature observation, mountain climbing, and gathering of wild vegetables.
In June 2009, the mountain road at the 3.5 km point from the top of the mountain collapsed, making the area inaccessible to vehicles.
