Takojima House
Overview
Takojima House is commonly known as a local culture preservation and transmission facility. Located diagonally across from the roadside station, this facility preserves the houses and merchant houses where yanshu (fishermen) used to stay during the period when the island prospered as a place for herring (sengoku). During the summer bathing season (mid-July to mid-August), it is open to the public as a free rest area.
