Spring of Life Noto (Nodo no Mizu)
The five "springs of life" in the town were constructed as valuable water supply facilities in the event of a disaster, based on the lessons learned from the Hokkaido Southwest Offshore Earthquake, from natural springs that had long been utilized by the local community. Each of the natural stone-walled springs has its own unique Azumaya, a small park-like area where visitors can relax and enjoy themselves. Why not visit the "Fountain of Life" for the famous water that tastes so good when you make coffee or tea?
The water temperature is stable between 9 and 10 degrees Celsius.
Around the spring's entrance, which is surrounded by natural stones, azumaya (a kind of traditional Japanese-style veranda), each with its own characteristics, have been built and are used as a place for relaxation and recreation.
The "Toinomizu" was completed in 1997. The "water of Hachiman-san" and "water of Noto (throat)" were completed in 1998, and "water of Komonai" and "water of Himekawa" in 1999.
