Every year on August 14th, a Bon Dance is held at Otobe Fishing Port, followed by a fireworks display. It is said that the Bon Dance was originally held to send off the spirits of ancestors, but as time passed, an entertainment element was added, with people of all ages enjoying the dance together, and it is said that this has remained an annual event to this day. At the Otobe Town Bon Dance, not only local residents but also people who have returned home from their hometowns join in and enjoy the Bon Dance together to songs such as Otobe Ondo.
