SPOT
Shibazakura Takinoue Park
Shibazakura Takinoue Park is located on a small hill in the center of Takinoue Town. The shibazakura (moss phlox) that bloom magnificently across the entire park from early May to early June began from a single mandarin orange box full of seedlings. Since then, through the efforts of the townspeople and the town, they have multiplied each year, and now form a massive colony covering 100,000 square meters. Its scale is one of the largest in Japan.
The small, lovely flowers not only display a vibrant pink color but also envelop the entire town in a sweet fragrance. These shibazakura, along with the valley that flows at the foot of the hills, invite travelers into a world of fantasy.
