Toya Lake Town, located in southern Hokkaido, was established in 2006 through the merger of Abuta Town and Toya Village, and has a population of about 9,000. Surrounded by Lake Toya, Mount Usu, and Uchiura Bay, the town features diverse landscapes. It is conveniently accessible from Sapporo and New Chitose Airport, making it a major tourist destination in southern Hokkaido.
The area enjoys a relatively mild climate for Hokkaido and is often referred to as the “Shonan of Hokkaido.” Comfortable throughout the year, the lakeside and mountain scenery change beautifully with the seasons, attracting many visitors.
