Naiie Town is a peaceful town located in the Ishikari Plain, almost in the center of Hokkaido. Boasting excellent accessibility via National Route 12, the JR Hakodate Main Line, and the Hokkaido Expressway, it is about a one-hour drive to major cities like Sapporo and Asahikawa. Furthermore, popular tourist destinations such as Otaru, Furano, and New Chitose Airport are within a two-hour reach, making it a highly convenient base for sightseeing.
The town features rich rural landscapes where the changing of the seasons is distinctly visible, along with beautiful mountain ridgelines. Niwayama Forest Nature Park, just a five-minute drive from Naiie Station, is a renowned cherry blossom viewing spot boasting 1,800 Ezo mountain cherry trees. The spring "Naiie Sakura Festival" attracts many visitors, and from the observation deck, you can enjoy day camping while taking in spectacular views of the town, the Ishikari River, and the Kabato Mountains.
Naiie is also a town where culture and arts thrive. In front of Naiie Station stands the Cultural Hall (Concerto Hall), a 246-seat venue dedicated to chamber music. Equipped with a world-class Bösendorfer piano, it is cherished as a venue for the international educational music festival "PMF." Furthermore, the nationally designated Important Intangible Cultural Property "Bitchu Kagura," passed down from Takahashi City in Okayama Prefecture, is carefully preserved here, making Naiie a town where rich nature and refined culture harmonize beautifully.
