Kamisunagawa Town is a town nestled in lush green mountains, located almost in the center of the Sorachi Subprefecture in the central region of Hokkaido. It is adjacent to cities like Utashinai and Sunagawa, and its location is easily accessible from Sapporo City. The majestic Yubari Mountains run through the eastern part, and the settlements along the streams formed by the Pankeutashinai River flowing through the north, along with the mountainous region in the southeast, create a beautiful landscape.

The climate is characterized by being relatively mild for an inland area, as the mountains to the north and south block strong winds. The snowfall is also less compared to the surrounding areas, and the town is blessed with a calm and very livable natural environment throughout the year. The vibrant colors of the four seasons woven by the primeval forest, such as the fresh green of early summer and the brilliant autumn foliage, beautifully adorn the town.

The town has a history of prosperity from coal mining, and the "Kamisunagawa Coal Mine Museum" conveys the advanced technology and the lives of the pioneers of that time to the present day. Additionally, the "Former Kamisunagawa Station (Hibe Station)," which became known nationwide as the setting for a famous drama, is a popular tourist spot that still retains its original appearance. Furthermore, there is a vast Japanese garden filled with a rich Japanese atmosphere, and the "Kamisunagawadake Onsen Panke no Yu," a hot spring that gushes out in the mountains surrounded by primeval forest, where many people are soothed by the excellent skin-beautifying effects of the "Bijin no Yu" (Beauty Bath) and the abundant nature.
