Uryu Town, located within the Sorachi Subprefecture of Hokkaido, is a town blessed with vast rural landscapes and abundant nature. Access from major cities in Hokkaido is also excellent, with it being about an hour and a half by car from Sapporo City and about fifty minutes from Asahikawa City. The town's greatest symbol, the world-renowned scenic spot "Uryunuma Wetland," which spreads across a mountainous area at an altitude of 850 meters, preserves a beautiful, untouched ecosystem of about 100 hectares, captivating many visiting hikers.

The clear spring water flowing from mountains such as Mount Shokanbetsu enriches the fertile land, cultivating the finest "Uryu Rice." The town's key industry is agriculture, centered on rice cultivation, and it is currently focusing on improving productivity by expanding the scale of its rice paddies. Furthermore, resident care is also very comprehensive, with measures such as the expansion of childcare support and subsidies for "Silver Taxis" for the elderly, allowing all generations to live comfortably and with peace of mind.

At the "Michi-no-Eki (Roadside Station) Denen no Sato Uryu" along the national highway, you can purchase seasonal specialties such as the exquisite Uryu Rice and "Shokan Melons," and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the wetland at the adjoining nature museum. There is also a park golf course where everyone from children to seniors can casually work up a sweat without needing to bring any equipment, making it an attractive town where rich food and a warm community thrive.
