Amaryu Town Historic Site Park

The former office of Hachisuka Farm, which was the base for the development of this town, was developed as a recreation area. The site area is approximately 3 ha.
A grass plaza, an athletic field, and a forest of memorial trees surround the former farm office building. The symbol of the park, a row of Japanese red pine trees, was designated as a protected tree in June 1975 to commemorate the development of Hokkaido.

■Historic Site Park and Row of Red Pine Trees
It is said that in 1893, Shigezo Hachisuka, who was burning to pioneer the Uryu Wilderness at the time, brought in saplings of red pine trees that grew wild in the family temple of the Marquis along with tools needed to establish the farm, and planted them along the pathway of his office.
