별 모양의 링 안에 떠오르는 얼음 결정들! '샤봉볼 챌린지'는 영하의 날씨에 샤봉볼을 만들어 얼리는 북국 특유의 독특한 놀이이다. 별이 흩뿌려진 듯한 아름다움에 X(구 트위터)에서의 반응은 '좋아요'가 27만 건을 넘어섰고, '계속 보고 싶다', '마치 CG 같다', '동화 같다'는 등의 댓글이 달렸다.

샤봉볼 챌린지는 어렵지 않나요? 어떻게 만들까?

이 게시물은 홋카이도 가노오이초 후루사토세이(鹿追町ふるさと納税)가 올린 것이다. 여러 번 샤봉타마 챌린지에 도전하고 있다고 해서 이야기를 들어보았다.

어떻게 만들었나요?

100엔짜리 샤봉볼용 포이에 샤봉액을 묻혀서 얼려서 만들었습니다. 이 날은 영하 18도였기 때문에 샤본액에 담그자마자 카메라를 들이대도 이미 결정화되어서 몇 번을 다시 촬영했습니다.
(촬영 장소는) 집 창문을 열고 아침 햇살을 향해 촬영했습니다. 이 날은 날씨가 매우 추웠기 때문에 그 덕에 아름다운 빛을 촬영할 수 있었다.

평소에는 동그란 샤봉볼을 얼려서 만드시는 것 같은데, 동그란 모양은 만들기가 어렵다고 하네요.

저 같은 경우는 둥근 샤봉볼에 도전하기 전에 돔형을 만들 수 있도록 연습을 많이 했어요. 돔형이 성공하면서 감각을 익혔고, 그 후 일주일 만에 둥근 샤봉볼을 만들 수 있게 되었어요. 조금만 바람이 불어도 깨지기 때문에 상당히 어려운 것 같아요.

어느 정도의 온도에서 만들 수 있을까요?

일반적으로 영하 5도 이하에서 샤봉볼이 얼어붙는다고 합니다. 저는 영하 5도~8도 정도면 쉽게 만들 수 있어요.

직접 만들어 보고 싶다는 목소리도! 올 겨울은 얼어붙는 샤봉볼에 도전해 보세요!

SNS에서는 "해보고 싶다!" "하고 싶어요!", "〇〇(마을)에서도 만들었어요!" 등의 댓글이 올라온다. 영하 5도~8도가 만들기 쉽다고 하지만 영하 1도에서도 시간은 걸리지만 만들 수 있다는 설도 있다고 한다. 홋카이도의 다른 마을에서도 샤봉타마 챌린지를 할 수 있을지도 모른다! 이번 겨울에 꼭 한번 도전해 보는 것은 어떨까?
