Look at the ice crystals forming inside the star-shaped ring! The "Soap Bubble Challenge" is a unique activity specific to northern countries, where you make and freeze soap bubbles in sub-zero temperatures. Its beauty, like scattered stars, garnered over 27,000 likes on X (formerly Twitter), with comments like, "I could watch this forever," "It looks like CG," and "It's like something out of a fairy tale."
Is the Soap Bubble Challenge difficult? How do you do it?
The post was made by the Shikaoi Town Furusato Nozei (Hometown Tax) account in Hokkaido. They mentioned that they have attempted the soap bubble challenge many times, so we asked them for details.
How did you make it?
(For the location) I opened my window at home and shot it facing the morning sun. It was very cold that day, which helped me capture the beautiful light.
It seems you usually freeze round soap bubbles, but is it difficult to make them round?

At what temperature can you make them?
People want to try it too! Take on the frozen soap bubble challenge this winter.
On social media, there were comments like "I want to try this!" and "I was able to do it in [Town Name] too!" While it was mentioned that -5°C to -8°C is the easiest temperature range, some say it's possible to do it even at -1°C, though it takes longer. You might be able to do the soap bubble challenge in other towns in Hokkaido too! Why not give it a try this winter?
