Asahiyama Memorial Park, beloved by Sapporo residents for its great views, is a pleasant park that will clear your mind just by visiting. Located on a hill adjacent to Mt. Moiwa and Mt. Maruyama, the main attraction for many visitors seems to be the observation deck at an altitude of 137.5m. Let us share a little bit of the wonderful view with you!

The sky seems to go on forever and the Sapporo cityscape spreads out below it. There is a large parking lot, so it's nice that you can enjoy this view without having to climb a mountain.

On a clear day, you can see all the way to the Ishikari Plain and the Sea of Japan. Just the observation plaza from which you can see this view is satisfying, but Asahiyama Memorial Park boasts an area of 20 hectares with this spot at its center.

This place used to be a ranch, but after many twists and turns, it became a hot spring and a ski resort, and opened as Asahiyama Memorial Park in 1970. After that, it underwent redevelopment work from 2004 to 2008, and became what you see today.

The park is large and hilly, so just walking around the grounds is sure to be a great workout. As you walk, you'll come across a variety of wild birds and flowers.

Families come here, people bring their pet dogs, camera enthusiasts come here to take photos... At night, the view from the observation deck changes completely, and it becomes a place for couples to chat. Asahiyama Memorial Park is also famous locally as a hidden gem for night views. The park's appearance also changes dramatically depending on the season.

There is also a rest house in the parking lot of Asahiyama Memorial Park. In addition to a shop and a rest area, there are also leaflets about the park, so if you are visiting for the first time, it is a good idea to stop by the rest house first.

The view from the observation deck at Asahiyama Memorial Park is simply amazing... but it would be a waste to just enjoy the view! We hope you will find a way to enjoy the park that suits you best.
