Take a dip in Jozankei Onsen, enjoy a meal, and try horse riding. Here's how to use a coupon to save money!
Did you know that the "Jozankei Machiaruki Ticket" coupon, which can be used to get great deals in Jozankei, went on sale on June 1st? You can get 3,000 yen worth of fun by purchasing a 2,000 yen coupon! Here is an example of a course to enjoy Jozankei to the fullest, with three of the facilities you can use the coupon at!
First, go to the Jozankei Tourist Information Center to purchase a coupon. For 2000 yen, you can purchase a 3000 yen coupon (6 x 500 yen tickets). The sale period is until Monday, October 31, 2022, but will end as soon as the limited sale of 18,000 coupons is sold out. No change will be given, but you can use it together with cash.
After purchasing the tickets, we headed to Wild Mustangs, about a 15-minute drive from the tourist information center. Here, you can experience western horseback riding at the foot of Mt. Hakkenzan.
Experience the "Horseback Up-Down Course" where a staff member will hold the reins. It feels great to ride a cute horse through nature! The cost was 2,000 yen for four tickets. You can also reward your horse with a carrot (additional 100 yen charge).
Returning to the hot spring town of Jozankei, we head to the popular bakery "Vergine Baccano." It's a super popular store that has people lining up before it even opens. Apparently, most of the bread in the store is sold out even in the morning!
I successfully purchased a croissant (260 yen including tax). I ate it at a table outside the shop. The buttery flavor filled my mouth and I felt happy. When I come across delicious bread, it warms my heart too.
Along with the croissant, I also bought the "Walnut and Cheese Whole Wheat Bread" (280 yen including tax). The bread was full of walnuts and cheese, and it was filling enough to fill me up. Here, I paid with one ticket and cash.
Although my stomach was full, I still had room for dessert! So I headed to Locale Jozankei, a soft serve ice cream shop located less than 10 minutes walk from Vergine Baccano.
This shop's soft serve ice cream is famous for its combinations of unexpected ingredients such as blue cheese and pistachios. They all look delicious, but the one I chose this time is...
"Yoichi Whisky & Espresso" (630 yen including tax)! With one bite, the refined aroma of Yoichi Whisky fills your nose, making this a soft serve ice cream for adults that can only be enjoyed by adults. I paid one ticket and 130 yen in cash, and with this, I used up all my tickets.
Although I paid a little extra, I was very satisfied with the 2000 yen ticket because I had so much fun! Not only guests staying at Jozankei Onsen, but also people living in the surrounding area should purchase the "Jozankei Machiaruki Ticket". Jozankei has many attractive shops and you may use up the tickets in no time.
