Lake Akan Forest Night Walk KAMUY LUMINA (hereafter referred to as "Kamuylumina") is held in the forest by Lake Akan in Akan-Mashu National Park under the theme of "Symbiosis with Nature". It is one of the "Lumina Night Walk" series developed worldwide by Canadian company MOMENT FACTORY, and is a multimedia entertainment experience that makes full use of light, sound, and images.

This is the first time in the world that the Lumina Night Walk is held in a national park! It seems to be attracting keen attention from both inside and outside of Japan.

The content story is based on the Yukara (epic poem) that has been handed down to the Ainu people of Akan since ancient times. Participants will walk along a 1.2-km promenade through the forest at night and experience the world of the story in 8 zones, which are interspersed with projection mapping and sinography (light and sound stage sets).

An important companion for this adventure is the "Rhythm Stick," which is handed to each visitor at the entrance to the forest. The stick is made in the motif of a traditional Ainu walking stick, and in conjunction with the storyline, the rhythm stick will narrate, play music, and light up in various colors.

This is truly a new type of activity that allows visitors to feel the nature of Lake Akan's forests while becoming a part of the characters themselves, along with owls, jays, and other characters! Everyone from children to adults will be fascinated by this activity.

In fact, Cam Illumina won the "Matching Award [Adventure Tourism x Digital Art]" in the "Cool Japan Matching Award 2022," which evaluates advanced Cool Japan initiatives.

There is an Ainu village called Kotan in Lake Akan Onsen, and in the process of creating the story of Kamuirmina, production was supervised and conducted in collaboration with the Ainu people. Cooperation with other fields and regions is another important aspect of the Cool Japan Matching Award.
