The Lake Akan Forest Night Walk KAMUY LUMINA (hereinafter referred to as Kamuy Lumina) is an event held in the forests around Lake Akan in Akan Mashu National Park, with the theme of "coexistence with nature." It is one of the Lumina Night Walk series, which is being rolled out worldwide by Canadian company MOMENT FACTORY, and is a multimedia entertainment experience that makes full use of light, sound, and video. This is the first time in the world that the Lumina Night Walk will be held inside a national park, and it has attracted a lot of attention from both within Japan and overseas.

The story of the content is based on the yukar (epic poem) that has been handed down since ancient times by the Ainu of Akan. Participants will experience the world of the story in eight zones dotted with projection mapping and scenography (a stage device of light and sound) while walking along the 1.2 km promenade of Yonomori.

Your precious companion on this adventure is a "rhythm stick," which each person is handed at the entrance to the forest. Made based on a traditional Ainu walking stick, the rhythm stick plays narration and music in tandem with the storyline and lights up in various colors.

This is a truly new and exciting activity where you can feel the natural surroundings of the Lake Akan forest and become one of the characters, including owls and jays! Everyone, from children to adults, is sure to be hooked.

There is an Ainu settlement called a kotan in Lake Akan Onsen, and the story of Kamuy Lumina was created under the supervision and cooperation of the Ainu people. Collaboration with different fields and regions is also a major point of the Cool Japan Matching Award.
