Welcoming Demon Statue (in front of JR Noboribetsu Station)

First, they welcome tourists in front of JR Noboribetsu Station. They then make an appearance as entertainers at the Noboribetsu Hell Festival, held in the Noboribetsu hot spring resort town on the last Saturday and Sunday of August every year, and liven up the festival.

Welcoming demon statue (in front of Noboribetsu East Interchange)

For those who are visiting by car on the Do-o Expressway, an impressive welcoming demon measuring 18m in height and weighing 18t will appear at the exit of the Noboribetsu East Interchange. It is pointing in the direction of Noboribetsu Onsen town!

Symbol demon (prayers for success)

Located on Gokuraku-dori, the main street of Noboribetsu Onsen, this demon holding a book is said to bring good luck in passing exams. Why not make a "pray for success" before taking an exam or qualification test?

Symbol of Oni (Love Success)

The two demons standing side by side are statues of love fulfillment. Their adorable appearance will warm your heart. If you want your love wish to come true, why not try praying at these statues?

Symbol demon (prosperous business)

The demon statue with its hands folded is one that is holding a metal club with the words "prosperity in business" written on it. It is a "beckoning demon" rather than a "beckoning cat" and seems to bring great luck.

Yukake Onizo

Located next to the Noboribetsu Tourist Association on Gokuraku Street is Yukake Onikura. Use a ladle to pour the hot spring water flowing from the side onto any part of your body that hurts, and pray for good health and recovery from all illnesses through the hot spring's healing properties.

Welcome Parent and Child Demon Statue

The 5m tall parent and child demon statues are holding hands, creating a heartwarming image. They will warm your heart just like a hot spring.

Enma-do

The "Enma Daio Karakuri Float," created as a commemorative project for the 30th Noboribetsu Hell Festival, is enshrined here, and you can see Karakuri performances six times a day. At the Noboribetsu Hell Festival, you can enjoy watching this Enma Daio parade through the hot spring town.

Demon Shrine - Buddhist chanting demon statue

It's a popular spot for taking commemorative photos. In the small shrine in the center of the 3.5m standing red demon statue and the 2.2m seated blue demon statue, a "Nenbutsu Oni Statue" (a statue of a Buddhist chanting demon) that is said to have been handed down since the Edo period is enshrined.
When talking about Noboribetsu Onsen town, you can't miss the popular Jigokudani and Sengen Park where you can see the geysers, but why not take a leisurely stroll through the town and look for the Yukijin?
