A Close Look at Live YouTube Distribution
We had the opportunity to witness a live YouTube streaming session. On this day, a live broadcast was made to introduce a book on the history of Sapporo, "The Revised and Enlarged Edition of Sapporo's Place Names," which was released in October of this year. This is the latest edition of the book after a four-year hiatus, which has been expanded to include a manuscript written by Mr. Wada on the origin of the town name "Miyanomori". The publisher's editor, Tetsu Inoue, also appeared as a guest on the broadcast, answering questions from viewers about the Maruyama/Miyanomori neighborhood.
On YouTube, we are always willing to talk about things that are considered "commonplace" to us history buffs," said Inoue. I hope that the easy-to-understand and familiar stories will trigger an interest in Sapporo's history among those who were not so interested in it before. On the other hand, the magazine serials are a bit maniacal, since many of the readers are adults (laughs).
Mr. Wada is enthusiastic about continuing to produce books in the future. However, he says there are other things he would like to do as well.
