Interest for Children, Memories for the Elderly

He feels that the number of people interested in history has been increasing over the past few years. He would like to hold events for children and encourage them to learn about the interesting aspects of the town in which they live. He would also like to talk to the elderly about history as a way of "reminiscing.

When I give lectures at senior citizen facilities," he says, "I often hear people say, 'I missed the old days,' instead of 'I learned a lot. There is a theory that remembering the past is a good stimulus for the brain and helps prevent dementia. I would like to continue to communicate this information in various ways in the future.

Knowing that the roads and buildings we normally use without thinking have unexpected histories will change the way we look at the city. The historical background of Sapporo, which is undergoing active redevelopment, is likely to make the city look even more appealing.
