CHILDHOOD, Hokkaido's first next-generation attraction park complex, will open on May 13, 2023 in Otaki, Date City, Hokkaido, and will reuse the old school building that closed in 2019 and its surrounding area, consisting of four different attractions: a trampoline park, laser tag, VR, and outdoor buggy. Former Otaki Junior High School to be reborn as an attraction park

The 20-square-meter space of the former gymnasium will be filled with attractions for the first time in Hokkaido, including five types of trampolines and a giant field athletic field where visitors will have to clear various obstacles like in an action game. There are many contents that will keep you screaming, such as a thrilling scream slide that utilizes the height difference of the old gymnasium and a wobbly bridge familiar from Takeshi Castle.

On the second floor of the school building, visitors can experience the near-future play of laser tag and VR in a space that retains the appearance of a school. Laser tag is a "painless survival game" that means "Laser Tag" (a game of tag). Since there are no bullets, there is no need for protective gear, and both children and adults can enjoy the game with peace of mind.

In addition, in the spacious garden behind the school building, visitors can experience the dynamic driving of an outdoor buggy in the open nature surrounded by forest. There are two courses: a beginner course that even first-time ATV users can enjoy without anxiety, and an advanced course that allows students to fully enjoy nature.

Access, operating days, and fees

It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes from New Chitose Airport and about 2 hours from central Sapporo by car. Open on Saturdays, Sundays, national holidays, and during spring, summer, and winter vacation periods. Hours of operation are 10:00-17:00 from April to October and 10:00-16:00 from November to March. Fees are 4,400 yen for junior high school students and older over 130 cm tall, 3,850 yen for elementary school students under 130 cm tall, and 1,100 yen for tours. (All amounts include tax)
