"The Conductor's Thoughtfulness Was the Best Part" - A Heartwarming Story of Kindness on a JR Hokkaido Train Goes Viral
A story posted by a resident of Hokkaido about an experience on a train has been gaining a lot of attention on social media.
The poster, Shino, is a graduate student who was traveling from Hokkaido for job hunting. Their post about the experience during this trip received a massive response, with over 120,000 likes.
I was exhausted from job hunting and decided to pay for a u-seat to relax, and the conductor handed me this note. 🥺🥺🥺🥺
I wasn't really bothered by the cheerful group of businessmen drinking and having a party in the seats in front of me, but the conductor's thoughtfulness is what makes me the happiest.
Should I write a letter to JR Hokkaido about this???

The conductor's kind and considerate gesture is truly moving.
We spoke with Shino to hear more about what happened that day.
Could you tell us about the situation at that time?
The train I was on was the Rapid Airport train departing from New Chitose Airport for Sapporo in the 9 PM hour. The only other people in the same car (a paid reserved seating car) were the group in question. I believe the regular cars were a bit crowded as several flights had arrived at the same time.
On a train departing from the airport in the 9 PM hour, many people likely booked reserved seats to get some rest. It's wonderful that the conductor was so considerate.
We heard you had some other troubles on your trip before even getting on the train.
My flight on the way there (the morning of the previous day) was delayed by about an hour and a half, and the return flight was delayed by over 30 minutes. They even handed out meal vouchers before boarding the first flight. Fortunately, it didn't affect my interviews.
The meal voucher distributed as an apology for the delay
I stayed overnight, and during dinner, after waiting in line and finally getting a table to order, my order wasn't processed correctly, and I ended up waiting for nearly 30 minutes. I wasn't in a hurry, so it didn't bother me at all, though. (laughs)
It seems Shino was on their way home, completely exhausted after a series of unfortunate events. The kindness they experienced at the end of such a trip must have deeply touched their heart.
Is there anything you would like to say to the JR Hokkaido conductor who gave you the note?
I apologize for any trouble this may have caused, as my post has created quite a stir. I am truly grateful for your wonderful consideration.
On social media, people have been posting moving comments, such as:
"That's god-tier service."
"I'd be so happy if someone did this for me."
This was a heartwarming train episode from Hokkaido, showcasing professional hospitality that truly connects with passengers.
