The Photographer on the Charm of Rebun Island: "Magnificent Nature and Scenery"
Introducing photos of Rebun Island taken by Kenichi
The photographer is Kenichi, who lives in Toyama Prefecture. He took this shot in the summer of 2024 at Cape Sukai, located in the northwest of Rebun Island. When asked about the island, Kenichi said:
The charm of Rebun Island is definitely its magnificent nature and scenery. The beautiful color of the highly transparent sea, the star-filled sky with almost no light pollution, and the numerous flowers seen on the well-maintained hiking trails create a landscape that feels like you're not in Japan, even though you are. I felt that being able to enjoy all of this on a compact island is a unique charm of Rebun Island.
By day, you can see the beautiful sea known as "Rebun Blue" and alpine plants, and by night, a sky full of stars and the Milky Way. The fact that the island shows completely different faces depending on the time of day is one of the reasons it attracts so many people. This is a spectacular view created by overwhelming nature that can only be experienced on Rebun Island, Japan's northernmost remote island. We highly recommend you experience it for yourself.
