Niseko Town

Niseko is known throughout Japan and the world as a mecca for winter sports. In this very town, a collaborative demonstration project between Niseko Town and various companies called "Niseko-llabo." will be held on October 4th (Wed) and 5th (Thu), 2023. This time, we'll introduce Niseko Town's initiative to think about the future of the community.

What is "Niseko-llabo."?

Niseko-llabo

"Niseko-llabo." is a portmanteau of "Niseko x Collaboration" and "Niseko x Laboratory." It's an initiative to conduct collaborative demonstration experiments between Niseko Town and companies from both within and outside the town. Participating companies interested in this initiative will visit Niseko Town for a two-day, one-night inspection tour. It's a project aimed at solving shared challenges through the power of business, based on mutual empathy.

Behind it all is population decline... Let's think about the future of Niseko Town together!

Niseko

The backdrop to this project is the issue of population decline. Looking to the future, Niseko Town believes that by collaborating with companies from inside and outside the town to create something new, everyone involved with Niseko can continue to live fulfilling lives. This belief led to the decision to launch the "Niseko-llabo." initiative.

"Niseko-llabo" Schedule

Niseko-llabo

This event takes place in Niseko Town. The schedule for the first day includes learning about past collaboration examples between Niseko Town and companies, interacting with the mayor and deputy mayor, and touring the town. On the second day, participants will interact with companies that have already established a presence in Niseko Town and discuss how they can collaborate on future challenges.

We spoke with Mr. Keita Okuda from the Niseko Workation Promotion Council, which is managing this event.
