A 'Suzu Castella' Walking in the Snow? Adorable Video from Hokkaido Goes Viral with Comments Like 'So Cute!' and 'Don't Catch a Cold!'

As winter truly sets in across Hokkaido, a video taken during a walk in Sapporo has become a hot topic.

The star of the video is a Shiba Inu! Her figure, covered in white as if dusted with powdered sugar, looks just like a Suzu Castella (a small, bell-shaped Japanese sponge cake). As she walks, shaking her head vigorously, social media has been flooded with replies like "So cute!" and "What a brave advance!"

The cute dog in the video is Hana-chan, a sesame Shiba Inu living in Sapporo. She lives with Azuki-chan, a black Shiba Inu.

We spoke with her owner, Oto-pon (@shibainu_hanazu), about the day the video was filmed.

Q Is Hana-chan good with snow?

She loves the snow! I believe the video was taken on the first day of real snowfall this season.

Q The snow in Sapporo has melted for now, but what are her walks like?

Since it's cool (cold), she walks very energetically. She prefers winter over summer.

So Hana-chan is strong in the cold! Perhaps she's a true Hokkaido native... or rather, a Hokkaido native dog.

Three winters ago, a video was also posted of her charging through the snow like a snowplow. It seems her fans have high hopes of seeing "Hana the snowplow" again this year.

We've obtained footage that clearly shows the heavy snowfall in Sapporo.

This post of her energetically making her way through the snow is truly heartwarming.
