Food samples" are now a popular part of Japanese culture. Their surreal appeal has attracted an increasing number of people who carry them around as mascots or accessories. In this context, a post by "Oji Salmon," a smoked salmon manufacturer in Hokkaido, has become a hot topic.
Anyone want something like this...? This is a wax sample of salmon. We have a lot of them lying around at our factory, and if there is enough demand, we are thinking of doing a giveaway campaign. But we don't want salmon that can't be eaten 😂.

The form is realistic yet somehow lovable! The sample was originally displayed at the time of sales at directly-managed stores, but due to changes in product standards, it was no longer used and a large amount of inventory was left unused.

There are more than 1,000 "salmon fillet" wax samples that have no use. We received a request from a follower who wants to use them for home economics in elementary schools! We will give them away on a first-come, first-served basis.
