Coin-type gift certificate" used in Hokkaido
These are coin-shaped gift certificates issued in various parts of Hokkaido. Even today, there are several confirmed examples of non-paper gift certificates issued in Hokkaido. These are just a few examples.
Raccoon Daimyojin (issued in 2001, Raccoon Shoro shopping street, Sapporo)
Clarke Coin (issued in 2006/Sapporo Chamber of Commerce and Industry)
WE Ebetsu Coin (issued in 2007/Ebetsu City Small and Medium Business Association)

In this issue, Mr. Warabi, a collector of old coins, told us about rare items and their charms. The historical items, such as the Hakodate ceramic stamps and Hakodate Treasure, are a reminder of what Hokkaido and Hakodate were like in those days.

Although they look like this, they are a type of gift certificate.
