Summer in Japan's great north is heating up! The "Sapporo Odori Beer Garden" will be held in Odori Park from Thursday, July 23 to Tuesday, August 18, 2026. It's the perfect chance to fully enjoy the cool Sapporo summer with a delicious beer. So, how about raising a glass with us?

What is the Sapporo Odori Beer Garden?

The "Sapporo Odori Beer Garden" is one of Japan's largest beer gardens, with over 10,000 seats set up in the spacious Odori Park. In 2025, it attracted 984,000 visitors. This event, which started in 1959 as the "Noryo Garden" (Cool Summer Garden), allows you to enjoy a summer day to the fullest with a beer in hand. The 2026 event will run for 27 days from Thursday, July 23 to Tuesday, August 18, as part of the Sapporo Summer Festival.

Located at Nishi 5-chome, "Suntory The Premium Malt's Garden" is in a prime location just a 1-minute walk from Odori Subway Station. This year, large tents have been installed over the reserved seating area. Additionally, a new counter booth has been set up, making it perfect for solo visitors or small groups. All seats offer mobile ordering, which not only saves you the trouble of buying tickets but is also very convenient as staff will bring your food and drinks directly to your table.

This year again, you can enjoy dishes supervised by Chef Shin Shimoguni, the first-ever champion of the "CHEF-1 Grand Prix." The menu is packed with cold and hot appetizers that pair perfectly with beer, including the "Special Miso-Marinated Black Pork Offal Teppanyaki with Citrus Herb Flavor," supervised by Chef Shimoguni, and the "Deluxe Set," which includes recommended items like pizza and fries.

At Nishi 6-chome, the "ASAHI SUPER DRY BEER PARK" offers a fantastic location to enjoy beer in the shade of the trees. At this venue, you can savor fresh draft beer brewed at Sapporo's only large-scale brewery, located in Shiroishi-ku, Sapporo. Furthermore, this year sees the debut of the "NIKKA STAND," where you can enjoy premium highballs made with Taketsuru and Yoichi whiskies.

The "Asahi Super Dry Extra Cold," known for its extreme chill, is back again this year. This sub-zero Asahi Super Dry is served in an aluminum "Kinkin Tumbler" that lets you experience its overwhelming coldness. Enjoy the "Kinkin DRY" sensation the moment you hold it and the moment it touches your lips.

At Nishi 7-chome, the popular reserved seating area at "Kirin Ichiban Shibori Beer Garden" offers over 300 seats inside a large tent. You can also enjoy watching the food being prepared at the live kitchen while you wait. Another great feature is that staff will deliver all orders, including drinks and food, directly to your table.

The food menu features freshly prepared dishes, including Kirin Beer Garden's raw lamb Genghis Khan, authentic oven-baked pizza, and Muroran yakitori. For groups of three or more, a course is available that includes all-you-can-drink from six types of beer and soft drinks, along with a mini appetizer platter.

At Nishi 8-chome, "THE SAPPORO BEER GARDEN" is a special beer garden where you can experience all of Hokkaido. The all-weather large tent remains, and there will be more two-person seats for smaller groups. This year, Sapporo Beer celebrates its 150th anniversary, and the venue will offer limited-time, limited-quantity sales of "Sapporo Classic FRONTIER MEMORIAL" and "Kaitakushi Furano Citrus."

The live kitchen booths, where you can enjoy hot Hokkaido delicacies like "Otaru Ankake Yakisoba," "Otaru Ushio Zangi," and "Sapporo Beer Garden Genghis Khan," will be back from last year. Enjoy them with a delicious draft beer poured in a single pour by the Sapporo Lion staff.

At Nishi 10-chome, the "World Beer Square" gathers beers from all over the globe, including international draft and bottled beers, as well as craft beers from within Hokkaido. The popular "Selectable!! Beer Tasting Set" allows you to choose three types of international draft beers, letting you experience the different tastes and characteristics of beers from various countries.

Additionally, breweries from within Hokkaido will be present. The food corner offers a variety of international gourmet and meat dishes that pair perfectly with beer, such as pizza, paella, Genghis Khan, and grilled scallops.

At Nishi 11-chome, the "Sapporo German Village" features draft beer from Hofbräu, an official brewery of the world's largest beer festival, Oktoberfest. You can taste aromatic and flavorful draft beer imported directly from Germany. The venue is equipped with tables with parasols and tented seating, as well as a standing bar area and reservable sofa seats, creating a layout where you can relax and spend your time comfortably.

In addition to German beer, a wide variety of drinks are offered, including wine, chuhai, non-alcoholic beer, kids' beer, and soft drinks. The food menu is also extensive, featuring authentic German flavors like sausages and Eisbein (pork knuckle).
